IDEX 2025 at the Forefront of Cutting-Edge Defense Technologies

The 2025 International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX), one of the world's premier defense exhibitions, has successfully concluded, drawing global attention. This year’s event facilitated business meetings with 83 companies, showcasing an extensive array of cutting-edge defense technologies and innovative products.

Latest Trends in Defense Technology: Drones, EO/IR Sensors, and RCWS Take Center Stage

At IDEX 2025, the increasing utilization of attack drones has emphasized the necessity of integrated counter-drone systems across all defense equipment. In particular, the deployment of Remote Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS) on unmanned armored vehicles and unmanned surface vessels has become more prevalent, highlighting the growing demand for high-durability EO/IR systems capable of withstanding high level shocks when integrated with weapon systems.

Additionally, the demand for cameras equipped with SWaP (Small, Weight, and Power) sensors, suitable for compact gimbals, has seen significant growth. EO/IR cameras featuring SWaP & Hot Sensors, renowned for their durability, have also garnered considerable interest. Furthermore, the industry is witnessing an expansion in the utilization of uncooled HD sensors, while there is an emerging demand for SWIR cameras and dual LWIR/MWIR camera systems for specialized applications such as sunrise/sunset operations and long-range missile detection.

Expanding Collaboration Opportunities with Global Companies

IDEX 2025: A Barometer of Global Defense Industry Trends

More than just a product exhibition, IDEX 2025 served as a strategic platform for tracking cutting-edge technological trends and fostering global defense industry networks. The event highlighted critical innovations in unmanned systems, EO/IR cameras, SWIR sensors, and RCWS, facilitating new business opportunities and shaping the future of the defense market.

With the next edition of IDEX expected to unveil even more advanced defense technologies and strategic partnerships, the participation of Korean defense companies in the global market is set to expand further, strengthening international cooperation and technological development.
