[NEWS] TBT Thermal Imaging Camera Proves Outstanding Performance in Volcano and Rockfall Monitoring
TBT's solutions, which feature cutting-edge thermal imaging surveillance technology, are attracting attention as key equipment in various disaster surveillance fields in Japan and Korea. In particular, TBT's thermal imaging camera system has proven its usefulness through actual application cases in volcanic activity monitoring and rockfall accident prevention.Monitoring volcanic activity on Mount FujiIn May 2018, TBT’s PTZ thermal imaging camera (TPV-IAHDR/150) was installed on Mt. Fuji, a symbol of Japan and a well-known active volcano, to detect signs of volcanic activity early and help nearby residents evacuate quickly. The camera can detect temperature changes in real time regardless of day or night , and its stability and accuracy have been recognized at national events such as the G7 Summit.Preventing human casualties due to rockfall monitoringIn September 2019, a TPV-IHDR/100mm thermal imaging camera was installed at the entrance cliff area of a tunnel in Chiba Prefecture, Japan , to prevent human casualties from falling rocks that may occur during heavy rain and snowfall. The system can detect signs of danger early by capturing temperature changes and movement of rocks in real time, and is greatly contributing to the protection of local governments and citizens. Also used for forest fire detection and integrated disaster surveillanceIn addition, TBT's thermal imaging cameras are being used in conjunction with various natural disaster response systems, such as forest fire detection , rockfall warning systems , and natural disaster monitoring after typhoons and heavy rain , and are also being introduced and operated in the forest fire surveillance systems of Suwon and Gwacheon in Korea.A TBT official said, “Volcanoes and rockfalls are natural disasters that are difficult to predict, but thermal imaging cameras can detect even subtle heat changes that are difficult to detect with the naked eye, allowing for advance response,” adding, “We will continue to develop technology so that we can contribute more effectively to domestic and international disaster response systems in the future.”

[NEWS] Enhancing Wildfire Prevention and Early Suppression with Advanced Thermal Cameras
With large-scale wildfires becoming more frequent worldwide, the importance of early detection and rapid suppression has never been greater. Thermal imaging technology plays a crucial role in identifying potential fire hazards that are invisible to the human eye, allowing for proactive wildfire prevention and swift response. TPV-IAHDR Series and TPV-IAHW Series thermal cameras, designed to provide cutting-edge wildfire detection and response solutions.TPV-IAHDR Series: High-Performance Thermal and Zoom CameraThe TPV-IAHDR Series is equipped with a 1280x720 resolution uncooled thermal camera offering high sensitivity (NETD <55mk) and the capability to detect temperatures of up to 350°C. This system also integrates a Full HD color camera with 36x optical zoom, enabling simultaneous monitoring in both visible and infrared spectrums.Additionally, the built-in laser illuminator (with a 200m detection range) ensures effective night surveillance. With automatic and manual temperature calibration, the system adapts to environmental changes for precise detection. Designed for large-scale forest monitoring, the IAHDR Series provides an advanced solution for wildfire prevention.TPV-IAHW Series: Lightweight and High-Sensitivity Thermal CameraFor mobile and drone-based applications, the TPV-IAHW Series offers a lightweight yet powerful solution with 1280x720 resolution and NETD <55mk sensitivity. Supporting temperature detection from -20°C to 350°C, this camera can identify even subtle heat variations. This product is primarily integrated into drones and mobile surveillance equipment for wildfire detection. It supports various color palettes and Automatic Gain Control (AGC) mode, allowing it to adapt flexibly to real-time environmental changes.Optimal Solution for Wildfire Detection and PreventionBoth models support H.265 and H.264 compression, enabling real-time streaming over networks. They can be remotely monitored and controlled via a web viewer and software. The TPV-IAHW Series is designed for fixed surveillance, while the TPV-IAHDR Series is ideal for mobile deployment, allowing for the creation of effective wildfire monitoring systems in various environments. As climate change increases the risk of wildfires, early detection using advanced thermal imaging technology is expected to play a crucial role in preventing large-scale disasters.
